Biodiesel kits are great if you want to to start making biodiesel for your own use at home or at your business straight away.

There are two paths at the moment that you can choose to go down:

1) Make a BioDiesel processor yourself using various parts you scrape up.
2) Purchasing a quality BioDiesel Kit from a reputable supplier.

Purchasing a BioDiesel Kit is a great place to start and is usually much easier.
If you want to make your own BioDiesel Fuel then this is a great way to start out.

Many high quality biodiesel kits are already on the market and are not very expensive to purchase but if you want high quality ans well as high output then the prices can jump up. On average you’re going to need to invest anywhere from £2800 [excl VAT] to £14,000 [excl VAT]. It just comes down to your budget, needs & the amount of BioDiesel you want to produce.

The main reason for purchasing a BioDiesel Kit is that they are designed by engineers who have thought of all the types of things that you may not have such as the required safety features. One of the most important safety features you should look for is a processor that has whats known as a “closed system”. This means that when the reaction between the biodiesel chemicals takes place, the fumes are trapped and cannot escape. This is a vitally important feature as the fumes can be very harmful if they are inhaled.

A reduction in time spent building the BioDiesel Kit is another reason. When you purchase a BioDiesel Kit it is usually delivered straight to your doorstep. You build it, purchase the required ingredients and you are good to go for making your own BioDiesel Fuel.

If you buy and build your own from separate parts there is a large learning curve that you have to deal with, then finding all of the parts from various suppliers across the country and sometimes the world!, assembling the biodiesel processor from scratch without any instructions to follow and the trial and error and blind “tweaking” it to try and get your contraption working correctly. All of this takes time and a large amount of it indeed. It may cost a bit less to gather up your own bits to build a processor, but if you are like me you do not like trading your time for money.

So for me and many others the smart way to go is to purchase a pre-assembled & tested BioDiesel Processor.

Below are the reasons I choose a BioDiesel Kit…

1) Simple. I invest some money my BioDiesel Kit is delivered right to my doorstep. with all of the components there with instructions on how to get started.

2) It saves me a huge amount of time. This time factor alone with educating myself on how to construct one, rounding up all of the components, to then assemble the processor etc etc. Time is money as the saying goes and I don’t want to spend it hitting my ahead against a brick wall because parts don’t fit or the processor wont run properly, No Thanks!!

3) The BioDiesel Kits are designed by Professional Engineers and they will have thought of things that would not even have entered my mind. Investing in a Professionals experience has always made great sense to me.

4) The Safety Factor. You can purchase a BioDiesel Kit with the safety features you need pre-installed on the processor setup and ready to run.

Ok now let’s discuss the BioDiesel Kits and what you get for the various price ranges. You can divide the BioDiesel Kits into approx 3 different sections.

A) Low price ranges (£2800 – £5,000)
B) Mid price ranges (£5,000 – £9,000)
C) High price ranges(£9,000 – £14,000) Please note all prices [excl VAT]

FF150-biodiesel-processor-thumb.jpg Low price Ranges: (£2800 – £5,000) You get what you pay for. It is a very basic biodiesel processor that will get the job done. But don’t expect many extra features. If you purchase a Mini, don’t expect the performance of an Aston Martin. They are good quality but you can only expect them to be able to do so much.

When purchasing in this kit range make sure to get one that has a separate “wash” tank included in the price. Keep clear of suppliers that are selling them separately or as an “add on,” Go elsewhere. It should be in all the one unit at the upper end of this price range.

Also try and be careful to remember to ask lots of questions if the one you are looking at purchasing has a plastic tank. Up to what temperature can the biodiesel be heated with the plastic tank? What is the process for heating it with a plastic tank?
I am not convinced that plastic tanks are the way to go with this. I would choose a steel tank if possible and price permitting.

FF600-biodiesel-processor-thumb.jpgMid price Ranges: (£5,000 – £9,000) These tanks are more like it!. This price range of tanks should allow you to get exactly what you want and need. You can now also get the extra widgets and gadgets that are not included with the lower end kits. Like compete processor automation. Flick a switch and when you come back later, it’s all done. It is a great feeling to turn on a switch on in the morning time and when you come home from work or play in the evening your entire weeks or even a months worth of fuel is ready for you to use.

FF2000-biodiesel-processor-thumb.jpgHigh price Ranges: (£9,000 – £14,000) These are the Rolls Royce of BioDiesel Kits! There are some really, really nice processors in this high end range as you would expect for the prices. You will get a much larger fuel capacity, complete automation and operations that are much more efficient . Many of these units are even used in small commercial applications.

Well thats it for now. I will have some links for the suppliers of the above kits coming soon.

Thank you for visiting BioDieselKits.co.uk.

We will soon be listing on this page some of the best value BioDiesel Kits that are made right here in the UK.
